Among several trekking passes, Manasalu Larke Pass Trek is one of the most adventurous trekking destination in Nepal. Reaching to the highest altitude of 5212m, this trek offers incredible view of Mt. Manasalu. Larke Pass Trek lasts about 20 days.. It is a challenging trek in the central-west part of Nepal. It offers to enjoy the remote lifestyle of the local inhabitants, influenced by the Tibetan culture and also the pristine snowcapped mountains. Mt. Manasalu(8146 m), also known as The Japanese mountain, since most of the climbers who made to the summit successfully were the Japanese, is one of the toughest mountain for climbing. Trekking in this remote area is challenging and sometimes risky, It is because of unfavourable weather condition and rescue operation is quite difficult in this region and hence, this region is restricted to a limited number of tourists.

Manasalu Larke Pass trek starts from Arughat which is a few hours drive from the capital. Also, we can drive to Gorkha and have some sight seeing. Furthermore,  trekking through deep gorges, sliced between Ganesh Himal(7429m) and Hiuchuli(7890m), of Budi Gandaki. This will provide the trekkers a new experience of the wilderness of this trek. Great vie of Manaslu can be enjoyed. A total of 110 species of birds have been identified in the area. There are two ethnicities mainly inhabiting this region. They are Nubri and Tsum.

Following the steep trials to see the first view of the Mt. Mansalu is worth every difficulties and fatigue you go through. Not just the view of the snowcapped mountains but the Buddhist flags and Chortens will add cultural strength to your trek and provide an encouragement to move forward to reach the untouched, majestic and breathtaking Larke-La Pass(5153 m). None other than Manasalu Larke Pass trek takes you closest physically to the land of Buddhist culture, Tibet.  Most of the tourists complete this tiring adventurous trek at Besi Shahar. Those who remain physically fit and mentally prepared continue their trek to the Annapurna Circuit, Nar Phu Valley or Tilicho Lake. Trek is much easier due to improved trails along the Budi Gandaki river gorge. Day 1: Arrival day (1,300m/4160 ft)

The Nepal Pioneer Treks representative would pick you up from the Kathmandu International Airport. Once you arrive at your hotel our manager will come to greet you at the hotel then brief about the program. On the same evening we would take you for our official welcome dinner at a typical Nepalese restaurant where you can enjoy cultural ethnic dance and music. Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,160 ft)

Your trip starts from today after breakfast. Our manager will introduce you with the tour guide then will begin a city tour of Kathmandu where you will see the main attractions of the valley. On this tour you will visit the Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace). After finishing the city tour, we will meet again to check your clothing and trekking equipment (sleeping bag, down jacket and trekking boots). Then after we take you for the well come dinner in a nice restaurant.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat (570m/1,824ft)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a local bus departing from Kathmandu to Arughat in the morning. This is an interesting drive along the scenic Highway. The bus makes two times stop for breakfast and lunch. After a seven hour drive you will arrive in Arughat. After a rest at the lodge at Arughat, you can walk around the town and explore the surrounding areas.  Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 4: Trek to Soti Khola (730m/2336ft)

Today your trip starts after breakfast at the lodge, the stone paved trail leads towards north of the valley which is along the bank of the Budi Gandaki river. This area has big rice farmland on the way and also small forest where you can see monkeys. You will enjoy your walk through Magar and Gurung village along the way and also few water falls passing  through. You can stay overnight at Soti Khola.

Day 5: Trek to Machha Khola (930m/2976ft)

Today also your trek starts after breakfast. The trail few up and downs from Soti Khola towards north of the valley. There are few farm terraces along the way and also passing through the Sal forest. After a short sandy walk on the bank of the river, the rocky trail leads few up and downs to Machha Khola. You can look around and enjoy the river view, then stay overnight at lodge.

Day 6: Trek to Jagat (1,410m/4512ft)

After breakfast the narrow trail leads few up and downs to the bank of the river and walk through the gravel bar along the bank of the Budi Gandaki River to get to the village. After that, the trail leads few up and down to reach at  Jagat and stay overnight in Lodge.

Day 7: Trek to Deng (1,800m/5760ft)

Today, the trek starts after breakfast. The trail at the beginning of the day starts uphill to the rocky ridge to Salleri and descend to Setibas. The valley takes you to the suspension bridge and climb up to Philim, which is a big Gurung village. After crossing the Budhi Gandaki the trail leads the west bank for a while, then cross to the east bank of the river to cross Deng Khola and continue to walk to Deng village then stay overnight at lodge.

Day 8: Trek to Ghap (2,160m/6912ft)

Today your treks lead from Deng to Ghap. You should cross the Budhi Gandaki after a short walk from Deng and follow the north bank and then climb to Rana at 1980m. Then head west up the Budhi Gandaki valley. Crossing various streams and rivers we drop into the Sringi Valley. After a few ups and downs in forests, we pass Mani walls and then turn into a corner to get to Ghap then stay overnight at lodge.

Day 9: Trek to Lho (4,295m/13744ft)

Today the trail leads through the river upstream and dense forest. After crossing the river at an impressive spot where it thunders down a narrow gorge, the forest becomes less dense and the trail is fine again. The pleasant walk continues to get to Namru village. Today on the way you have an opportunity see beautiful peak Himal Chuli. After that, the trail leads continue ascends where many Chortens and many barley terraces gives you perfect walk of the day. You will observe an excellent view of Ganesh Himal and finally reach to Lho then look around the village in the evening and stay for overnight at lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Samagaon (3,530m/11296ft)

After having breakfast at the lodge, you can start your trek continue. The trail leads through the shady forest which is an excellent walk where you will enjoy the natural beauty of the valley including snow Peak Mountains. A short climb to get to Shyala village and pass a large Chorten we look down into a little deeper where two rows of houses fromm the main part of Sama can be seen. At the far end of the village, overlooking the valley stands the well-known monastery of Sama. Better to visit the Monastery in the evening then stay overnight at Lodge.

Day 11: Acclimatize day

Today is the rest day, which does not mean you stay at the guest house all the time. You will be walking around the village, hike little bit and visit Monastery, which is Buddhist Monastery where you can visit. You can hike up to the ridge for the views of the mountains and the village. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Samdo (3,690m/11808ft)

Today also you can start your walk after breakfast. The trail drops down to the Budhi Gandaki river to cross the side stream. The trail leads towards north and follow in to a bridge over a side. The Larkya la Trail passes several Mani walls as the valley begins to widder. It is an easy walk through the juniper and birch forests of Kermo Kharka. Then cross the Budhi Gandaki on a wooden bridge and climb steeply onto a promontory between two forks of the river. From a stone arch we can see a large white Kani, which we do have to cross to get Samdo for overnight.

Day 13: Trek to Larkya Rest House (4,470m/14304ft)

After Samdo the trail continue walk down to the edge to cross the wooden bridge over Budi Gandaki then uphill to the stream to cross. After a short walk through the valley the trail leads up to the Larkya Phedi. It is also called Dharmasala because there is a huge stone a kind of Shelter. Evening walk around the hill to get acclimatized and overnight at Larkya rest house.

Day 14: Trek to Bimtang (3,720m/11904ft)

After a short climb, we reach to the North side of the Larkya Glacier. There one can enjoy the views of Cho Danda and then of Larkya Peak. Finally, we walk across the moraines of the glacier and a gradual ascent which becomes steeper only in the last section to get to the pass. From the top of the pass views are outstanding, including Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and the huge Annapurna II. Today is big day comparatively and tiring day. Finally, stop at Bimtang for overnight.

Day 15: Trek to Dharapani (1,860m/5952ft)

After breakfast the trail descends into a rhododendron forest towards the narrow valley until we reach the highest cultivated land in this valley at Karche, 2785 meters. On the way one can enjoy the view of Manaslu, Annapurnas and many more mountains. You can  cross a slide, then go across fields before making a steep climb over a ridge. Then after the trail continue through the fields, over a clear stream, passing through the houses and fields interspersed with rhododendron and oak forests to Tilje. The trail continues from the day to Dharapani for overnight to stay.

Day 16: Trek to Bahundanda (1,310m/4190ft)

The trail drops down to the river to cross the bridge and follows the rocky trail towards Tal. This trail was very nice before the road to Manang. You should follow the trail along the river side of Marsyangdi. On the way you can enjoy the views of water fall and the Rocky Mountains. After Ghermu the trail leads up gently up to the bottom of Bahundanda and steep up to the village of Bahundanda.You can explore the village in the evening then stay  for overnight at lodge.

Day 17: Trek to Besisahar (7,60m/2432ft)

After breakfast the trail drops down to the valley to cross the bridge and continue to walk along the bank of the river to Nagdi village. Then the trail leads to drop down to Khudi and continue to walk to Besisahar by the river bank of Marsyangdi. Beshishahar is the headquarter of Lamjung district. This is much bigger than the villages where you visited on this trip. You can walk around this city in the evening. You may have enjoyed the dinner to gather with your trekking stuff then stay   overnight at hotel.

Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu (1,300m/4160 ft)

Today you should drive back to Kathmandu at 7:00 in the morning, we’ll drive to Kathmandu along the little road to Dumre and after that through the Prithivi Highway. We will arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon. That night we will host a farewell dinner at a Nepalese restaurant. Spend the night in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departure day

Today you have a final departure from your home. Our driver will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport. We wish you had a nice and safe journey back home.
